New edition: BACKFORCE x ELECTRIC CALLBOY

The introduction to this blog post would probably start something like this if we were to continue in the same exaggerated style that singer Nico and screamer Kevin introduced in the launch video for the new Electric Callboy Edition. Your response to the entertaining video, which the band published on their YouTube and Instagram channel, has overwhelmed us! The two posts have already collected over 23,000 likes on Instagram and more than 76,000 views on YouTube. Of course, we also received the first orders straight away, meaning that our stocks were empty in no time at all - well done! 

Fictional TV channel “EC24 Shopping” and a “super flashy flash sale”?

Equipped with a lot of humor, wild 80s wigs (sorry guys, the hair wasn't real!) and a deliberately out-of-sync overdub, the two frontmen present our collaborative edition on their fictional TV station “EC24 Shopping”. Exaggerated claims, such as “The best thing my arse has ever touched”, as well as deliberately overdone problem depictions in black and white, demonstrate the advantages of the BACKFORCE chair in a hilarious way.


The “super flashy flash sale” gets positive feedback: In numerous comments, users praise the refreshing advertising and would like to see more of it, on TV, for example. 

Forgotten phenomenon “teleshopping”

This type of advertising is of course not new. It is a nod to a type of TV ads that now seems almost obsolete. But in the days before online shopping became socially acceptable, they were commonplace. 


These long-running commercials used to run in loops on so-called “teleshopping channels” to sell products to viewers zapping by. The mostly English-language productions were particularly noticeable due to their obvious dubbing. Striking depictions of problems with other products initially conveyed a shortcoming, only for the subsequent demonstration of how the advertised product could solve them to generate a desire to buy. 


Another tool was also used to really reach all groups of buyers: Flash sales. Offers are repeatedly announced by the presenter: generous discounts, freebies, as well as bundles with other products at a supposedly bargain price. Of course, only in limited quantities and only NOW


It was suggested that you were missing out on a unique opportunity. The pressure created was intended to urge the undecided to make a purchase. However, the attentive viewer quickly realizes that this type of offer is more an illusion than a reality. In most cases, the offers became more and more attractive the longer the program ran. 


If you stayed tuned in long enough, you eventually realized the true value of the goods on offer.

Why BACKFORCE is so different

Of course, BACKFORCE chairs have nothing in common with those products offered in the past. The video, which parodies these long-running commercials, ironically shows what BACKFORCE is not. Because where other suppliers are indeed always tempting customers with “generous” discounts or advertise with alleged ergonomics, BACKFORCE focuses on a well-thought-out, ergonomic design and a permanently fair price.
